The programme for SSP 2025 will include Special Sessions that complement the traditional program with new and emerging topics of interest to the signal-processing community, especially those in line with statistical signal processing and its applications. The aim of a Special Session is to provide an overview of the state-of-the-art as well as to highlight current research directions and challenges in specific fields of signal processing.
Therefore, the SSP Organising Committee wishes to invite you to organise a Special Session and submit a proposal indicating:
- Title of the Special Session,
- Motivation, indicating the novelty of the topic, and its timeliness,
- Short biography of the organizers,
- List of six (6) contributed papers (including titles, authors, contact information of the corresponding author, and a short abstract of each contribution). Each organiser, him/herself may not contribute more than two papers, and organisers should contact the authors of contributed papers and secure their participation prior to submission of the proposal.
Proposals will be evaluated and ranked based on the workshop themes, timeliness and attractiveness of the topic, and the qualification of the proposers and contributors.
Special session proposals are due by December 4, 2024, and notification of accepted proposals will be on December 18, 2024. As with regular conference papers, full-length papers of four pages of technical content (with a fifth page containing only references) for the accepted Special Sessions must be submitted by February 12, 2025.
The papers in each accepted Special Session will undergo a review process identical to that of regular papers involving the Special Session Chairs in the review process. It is the responsibility of the organisers to ensure that their Special Session papers meet the SSP quality standards. Please send your proposals to the Special Session Chairs at:
Jordi.VILA-VALLS@isae-supaero.fr and barbara.pascal@cnrs.fr
In case a paper in a Special Session does not meet the expected quality, it will be rejected, and an effort will be made to draw papers from the regular-submission process to fill the gap. If too few papers for a given Special Session are accepted in the review process, and we are unable to find suitable substitutes from the regular review pool, the Special Session may be cancelled-in such a case, the accepted papers from a cancelled Special Session will be placed into the regular sessions.
The SSP Organisers are looking forward to receiving your proposals and meeting you in Edinburgh for the event.
